Rings rings and more rings!!

Ok, so my mom was cleaning out her garage, and I found all these hoops, my first thought was " awesome I can make some cute bangles" Yea right they are way to big for that

See what I mean! So now I've got 17 of these hoops and now idea what to do with them....Does anyone have any great ideas??

So here is my idea, What if I did a giveaway with these hoops??

On other news we are slowly getting ready for vacation,

I borrowed some luggage from my mom, and brought them home, so I can start packing...If I dont I will surely for get something, and it will probably be something for Destiny..

Today my diet went pretty smooth, we ate and subway for lunch and dinner, it was very good.

However, Im going to have to find somewhere else to eat out at, here in town...

Taco Bell sounds to wonderful to think about!

O and Im finally under 205lbs, and can fit into last years jeans....YAY ME..

So here is the first one..

Braided Fabric Scrap/Fabric Rose Headband Tutorial

BRAIDED SCRAP FABRIC/FABRIC ROSE HEADBAND TUTORIAL

WHAT YOU NEED:

1-1inch wide strip of fabric

(its your choice on the length, the longer the strip the bigger the rose)

6-1/2inch wide x 20in long fabric strips

5 inch Elastic

Fabric glue / Glue Gun

Rhinestones

WHAT YOU NEED TO DO:

After you have cut all your strips, you need to lay them in sections of 2

Then Stack the together like so:

Now you will sew the ends together

it makes braiding much easier!

Now you will section them into 2's again and start braiding the fabric strips

Now you will sew the end up and trim the edges

 And measure it on your childs head to make sure you dont need to trim it.

Now all you have to do is sew on the elastic

And now for the Fabric Rose

 You will take your 1inch strip and fold the end in half and glue it

Now you will hold it something like this, and roll it twisting the your strip back in forth

Once you have finished, glue down the edge

and your all done with the fabric rose:

Now you can add your Rhinestones

and add your rose or roses to your headband

Put glue on the back of the rose and press it to the headband

and here is the finished product

I think these look best with two or more fabric roses in coordinating fabrics,laces,ribbons...and some much more....

(sorry bout the lack of  pictures its kinda hard to make a rose and hold a camera..lol)

Cartoons Good vs. Evil

Ok, So I have read several blog posts this week about  Disney Princesses vs. Disney is evil, and I have to say that I agree with almost everything that these ladies had to say about this subject.  I have to admit that I am very strict when it comes to what Destiny is allowed to watch on TV.  When Destiny first started watching cartoons I made a big deal about what she could or couldnt watch, and my husband laughed and said I was being overprotected!!!! I KNOW, HOW IS  THAT EVEN POSSIBLE..LOL

I have to say that their are much worse cartoons our kids could be watching than the Disney Princess.....and here is a run down of what I do and dont ALLOW!!

I allow almost anything that comes on PBS....I love love love this channel.... here is a link: http://pbskids.org/findit/index.html

 It has excellet learning shows like: Curious George, Word World, Super Why and many many more.....

I also allow most of the NICK JR cartoons, like dora, diego, wonder pets, max and ruby, team umizumi,
kai-lan,backyardigans, however I absolutly DO NOT ALLOW: SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS..that is a nasty smart mouth, underlying adult content that no child should watch...In my opinion tweenager/teenagers shouldnt be watching it either!!
Needless to say I HATE SPONGEBOB!

a nd I also allow most of the Playhouse Disney cartoons such as: Chuggington..(so cute), of course Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Handy Mannie....

However I dont like her to watch the Imagination Movers... I dont know how I feel about grown men acting so juvenile.....So I only allow this if there is absolutly nothing else...Not that she ever wants to watch it anyways.

One of our absolute favorite characters is STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE, She is Destinys idol! and Im pretty proud of that....She has learned so much from it, like manners, being nice, sharing , not hurting feelings.

I cant tell you how many times we have been on playdates and if a kid is being bad,mean.... She comes and tells me Strawberry shortcake says thats not nice.....lol. And I do give SSC all the credit for her manners, that is something that i just didnt think much of to teach her, I guess i just thought she was to young for that....(besides please, and thank you of course) ...
