Ok, so last month a lady at my church asked me if I would come and help her with vacation bible school, I was so shocked that I just said YES, not that I would have said no, Its just that I have never been to a vacation bible school, the church I go to is just a tiny little church with 50 something members(if we are lucky), And most of them are older people, so I never had the chance to go to a vacation bible school. Well within the last couple of years we have gotten several new members and most of them have kids, I think we have maybe 10-12 kids ranging in ages of 1-15, and 5 of those are teens which are the ones wanting to have a vacation bible school.......So, We are going to have a 1 day vacation bible school!
I have no idea what to do, she just gave me two books and said that I could choose what I wanted to do....UGH......My grandma told me that most VBS do crafts and a couple of lessons.
So I NEED YOUR HELP, with craft ideas and any other ideas or advice you could give me!! Please leave me some comments below or email me at: orangeblossomboutique2@gmail.com
What about asking the kids what they might be interested in learning? Find out which topics in the bible are interesting to them. For an activity, why not teach them something about preparedness. With all the natural disasters that have been happening, it might be a good idea to show them how to make a 72 hour kit. Everything you would need to survive for 72 hours in a backpack ready to take with you in seconds.
ReplyDeleteYou could also teach them how to bake something like bread or scones or even biscuits! Something that they could eat after and enjoy :)
Good luck, let me know how it turns out!
